So the Red Sox took two from the Tampa Devil Rays and have seperated themselves from the Rays in the AL Wild Card Race. The Sox are 6 games ahead of the Rays and have a 3 game lead over the Texas Rangers. This month will be an interesting one for the Sox and they must do their best to remain ahead of both these teams if they are to gain access to the MLB playoffs. I honestly do not see the Sox taking over first place over the Yankees. For that to happen the Yankee’s would need to play below .500 ball for the rest of the month, which I do not see happening. So it is the Wild Card the Sox need to win in order to make the playoffs.
Gotta love the playoffs!
